The leader supplier of voice logistics systems Vocollect and Mantis Informatics S.A signed a worldwide business partnership agreement in 2007. According to the agreement all LV3 users worldwide will be able to implement voice logistics systems on LV3. In 2008 LA will also provide voice logistics systems integrated with LV3 to its customers in Turkey. Through a rough look at the distribution centers, most of the operations in a distribution center could be completed more efficiently and quicker via voice logistics systems. E.g. operations such as receipt, putaway, replenishment, transfer, picking, conveyor loading and counting could work faster via voice logistics systems. Voice logistics systems work through Vocollect Talkman wearable computers as well as it works on RF handheld terminals referring a half-voice user and half-barcode user. Talkman wearable computers consist of a computer that is attached to waist and headphone and microphone unit. Voice logistics systems have provided dramatic efficiency increases in different sectors such as retail, logistics, food and other FMCG sectors so far. The projects in these sectors resulted with a 20-35% of efficiency increase and increase of 20% in picking velocity. Besides voice logistics systems show a 12 months of average investment return period. After that, Turkish companies will enjoy the cost and efficiency advantage that voice logistics systems provide with LA.
